Hills Eyewear: An Honest Review of Iman Gadzhi's New Glasses Brand & Why I Won't Wear Them!

April 28, 2025 The Peak Lapel

We have covered many eyewear brands on this site, and it is rare for a new upstart brand to stick out in a meaningful way. Somehow, though, Hills Eyewear does that. To give a short history, the brand was started a few years ago by Iman Gadzhi, of YouTube fame, under the eponymous name “Gadzhi”. It recently rebranded, as it grew, to Hills. I was intrigued when I first saw the rebrand being advertised on Instagram. The ads and branding are super slick, clean, and modern, and there has clearly been a lot of thought and care put into how this brand looks and feels. I figured I would try a pair out, and ordered the H1’s for myself…

A Review Of Suitsupply Custom Trousers

February 28, 2024 The Peak Lapel

Suitsupply has been steadily improving their custom made program over the last few years. They recently released a whole slew of new trouser customization options that allow you to choose different pleat options, waistband options, and more. I had the pleasure of reviewing a pair, and chose a slightly stretchy, lightweight, almost open-weave option from Reda in a super versatile light gray wool…

Review: Michael Andrews Bespoke Suits

October 26, 2023 The Peak Lapel

We have covered many custom suit companies here on TPL, but one that always intrigued me specifically was Michael Andrews Bespoke. I had always heard good things about it, knew a few people who were quite happy (and looked phenomenal) in their clothes, and there are few shops in NYC that feel comfortable referring to themselves as true “bespoke”, so it was something I was keen to try, especially at what seemed to be quite reasonable prices for what you were getting…

Uniqlo Still Makes The Best Undershirts

February 6, 2023 The Peak Lapel

Different people certainly have differing opinions as to the subject of whether or not to wear an undershirt. Personally, sometimes I do, sometimes I do not. In the colder months it often is a good idea to wear an undershirt under a sweater to (a) mitigate the itchiness of some fabrics and, more importantly (b) reduce the need to wash them which shortens the life of most knitwear. Thus, it’s a good idea to at least have some undershirts in your arsenal…

Rothy's Is Better Than Allbirds

November 17, 2022 The Peak Lapel

Or at least quite a bit more stylish. You see, I have been looking for a while for a great pair of slip on shoes to wear when running out for a quick errand, or similar. I have worn Vans for the last several months, but never really loved the look. I recently found out that Rothy’s started making shoes for men, and I have to say I am impressed. Their Driving Loafers, for example, look nice, yet are casual enough to be worn even with joggers…

The Slimmest Chelsea Boots Out There

October 30, 2022 The Peak Lapel

I’m a tall thin guy, no two ways about it. As part of that, my legs are slim as well. I have always loved the sleek Chelsea boot look, but most Chelsea boots out there don’t suit a slimmer guy. They aren’t sleek enough, and even if they are, the ankle portion is not nearly slim enough to neatly grip a slimmer leg. This results in jutting out away from you leg, getting caught on your pants, and just generally looking bad…

Oliver Peoples' Latest Frames

October 27, 2022 The Peak Lapel

For those “in the know” about eyeglasses, Oliver Peoples is an interesting brand. On the one hand, it is owned by Luxottica — that massive corporation that owns and controls about 90% of the eyeglasses market; just about every brand you likely know is owned by them — which would indicate that their frames would follows like most other Luxottica owned brands…

Review: Senszio Custom Suiting

September 18, 2022 The Peak Lapel

Somehow Senszio has flown beneath my radar for years. They are a custom suiting company based out of Hong Kong that has been in business for decades, and now continues as a family business. They do trunk shows throughout the year in the US — and are currently in the middle of one (September 19th, 2022) so reach out from their site if you would like to schedule an appointment with them! — and offer MTM services to their overseas clients. In India they offer full, true bespoke…
