Somehow Senszio has flown beneath my radar for years. They are a custom suiting company based out of Hong Kong that has been in business for decades, and now continues as a family business. They do trunk shows throughout the year in the US — and are currently in the middle of one (September 19th, 2022) so reach out from their site if you would like to schedule an appointment with them! — and offer MTM services to their overseas clients (and as of recently full bespoke in NYC and London as well). In India they offer full, true bespoke.
I was measured at a trunk show several months ago in NYC. I was, I must admit, incredibly skeptical of the whole thing. There were no fitting garments or anything of the sort. Just one man and his tape measure. He took the usual measurements, snapped a few photos of postural oddities I possess (don’t be jealous), and that was that. We selected a beautiful knit Loro Piana fabric to make a full suit out of (something I have always wanted to try), and the order was placed. 6 or 7 weeks later I had the suit at my doorstep.
Trying it on my skepticism remained. How could this possibly fit me well? And yet, I was, truly, blown away. It was the single best-fitting “first at bat” from a MTM company I have ever seen. The jacket fit was 99% flawless, needing only the slightest nip and tuck at the tailor. The trousers were a bit loose in the waist and leg, but that was nothing my tailor could not easily fix. All the difficult stuff (the rise, the hips, the postural adjustments) were all perfect. I even got a vest made — perhaps the hardest garment to truly nail — and it, too, fit great, needing only a slight slimming at the tailor. I have never had so few notes to provide to a MTM company. Consider me truly impressed. (Indeed, the notes were passed back to them and we will be following up with a second review of another suit to see how they properly translate my notes into adjustments for future orders, a most critical function of a good MTM company.)
Indeed, the fabric is remarkable as well. It looks like a beautiful pinstripe suit, but feels like something you could get from LuLuLemon. The construction is also all very solid as well. All the details are there, I have not seen any poor finishing or any other such issues. Everything feels high quality and well-made. Have I felt suits made to a higher level of craftsmanship than this one? Sure. But this Senszio suit is very well made, truly.
In all, I must say, with suits starting at around $700, if you are looking for a custom suit, I must highly recommend you consider Senszio.
