Note: Suitsupply sent The Peak Lapel these trousers for the purposes of this review.
Suitsupply has been steadily improving their custom made program over the last few years. They recently released a whole slew of new trouser customization options that allow you to choose different pleat options, waistband options, and more. I had the pleasure of reviewing a pair, and chose a slightly stretchy, lightweight, almost open-weave option from Reda in a super versatile light gray wool.
I picked a double belt loop, extended waistband, that thins towards the buttonhole; and, of course, side adjusters (of which there are several you can choose from). At this point, the Suitsupply trousers options encompass just about everything you could ask for or want, which is great to see (as just several months back, options were more limited). Further, what is great about their program is that your size is saved online, and so with just a few clicks, you can order a new custom item. My fit is pretty dialed in for trousers and so it showed up needing only the slightest tweaks at my local tailor (though Suitsupply’s tailors will do this for you if you’d prefer to visit their store locations).
Overall, these trousers came out super well. They seemed a touch tight across the hips (more than my previous pairs), but otherwise fit great out of the box. Again, it’s wonderful to be able to order like this with confidence, and, for the most part, garment to garment is quite consistent with Suitsupply and their custom program.
Putting this all together, for around $200-$300, most fabrics are available to you, with endless customization options (far beyond what most other online shops, like Proper Cloth, offer). Construction quality is, as ever, great with Suitsupply, as is the quality of the fabrics they choose to offer. It might well be one of the best value in custom trousers out there right now!
