I’m a tall thin guy, no two ways about it. As part of that, my legs are slim as well. I have always loved the sleek Chelsea boot look, but most Chelsea boots out there don’t suit a slimmer guy. They aren’t sleek enough, and even if they are, the ankle portion is not nearly slim enough to neatly grip a slimmer leg. This results in jutting out away from you leg, getting caught on your pants, and just generally looking bad. This is further compounded by the fact that many Chelsea Boots are too short up the leg, and, again, therefore cannot stay neatly tucked beneath the trouser as you sit and rise throughout your day. (This is a perfect example overall of what I am decrying. Not good!)
I have tried just about every Chelsea boot under the sun, and I can say with no small amount of confidence that if you have experienced the aforementioned problems — and you are, like me, on the hunt for the best possible Chelsea boot for slimmer guys that want a slim fit around the ankle/lower leg — the best option out there is the Inca Boot by Carmina. I have literally tried dozens of Chelsea boots with optimizing for slimness already in mind. Some come close (one or two from Allen Edmonds older models used to be decent. Oro is another brand out of Los Angeles worth checking out). But none are as good as these boots from Carmina.
They are extremely high quality, as is typical of Carmina. The suede ones are particularly phenomenal, though they come in several colors and different leathers. The toe shape is absolute perfection. But, where they really shine, is that the ankle part of the boot is high and tight, gentlemen. It has two elastic pull tabs to help you get them on and off (which I actually finds easier than with other even looser boots), and these boots, in my experience, have stayed neatly tucked under trousers for the most part throughout your normal daily routine. They are quite comfortable out of the box, but do take a bit to truly break in and mold to your feet. I have also confirmed with Carmina that even within their line of shoes these have the slimmest ankle opening (they offer other Chelsea boot options, but trust me, these are the ones you want).
A bit pricey? Sure. Though nothing too crazy when you compare it to the rest of the high end market. And if a slim, sleek, long-lasting Chelsea boot is what you are after, this is the best option on the market, hands down.
