I am not sure exactly when Natalino came onto the scene, but I was intrigued from the very start. They make great, Italian-inspired menswear at quite affordable prices (both in general, and certainly for what you are getting). Their product offerings spans sweaters, trousers, and shirts, to full suits and sportcoats. I, of course, had to give them a try for myself.
I ordered their brown linen suit you see pictured above, and was at first impressed with the fabric, construction quality, and in particular the fit of the jacket. Their suits are made in Italy, and the fabric was Italian as well (though not from a named mill as far as I could see?). The details and stitching was all quite nice for the price point, and even minor things like higher armholes were all there. Indeed, I would need minimal tailoring to get this to fit me how I like, which, being a tall and thin guy, is always an unusual and pleasant surprise. (Also note: last season they did not finish the sleeves, so you could adjust it as you wanted, which is nice in theory, but made tailoring a bit more expensive. This year, they finish the sleeves and have non-functioning buttons which makes tailoring much easier and cheaper.)
The trousers, though, are where things fell apart a bit for me. Despite me ordering what was, if anything, a size a bit too small, the legs on the trousers were absolute garbage bags on me, with a rise that, even when pulled up, sat comically low beneath by body. Could it just be my body? Yeah, very likely. But I also wish they offered a slimmer trouser option, especially given how rather slim the jacket to this suit is. I also think the fit of the pants being ballon-y was made worse by the rather prominent single pleat — and there is, sadly, no option for flat front trousers.
This is all to say, I sadly had to return the suit (which is no big deal as, happily, Natalino accepts returns and their customer service was quick to reply and get me set up with one. It’s a bit expensive given return shipping is on the customer, and it has to go back overseas from here in the US, but there are far worse returns experiences out there, so…)
Bottom line: The jacket is a home run in my book, the trousers need some refinements (or at least options) when it comes to the cut/pattern. But I think Natalino is a great brand, doing great things, and I hope one day I will be able to wear one of their suits. In the meantime, I recommend you check them out!
