Disclaimer: All He Loves was kind enough to send The Peak Lapel this box for free for the purposes of this review.
Well, this is the second of our reviews of the latest contender in the men’s subscription box space, All He Loves. Read our first review before reading this one! After last time, we concluded that it really was a solid box, following in the steps of Bespoke Post, but without the customization elements. They produced a great collection of themed items though that we were happy to receive. The question was, could they do it again, with consistency? (Which is what a subscription box is all about…) So, now that their second box has arrived, we can answer that question. Here we go…
The Box Contents
Wireless Speaker ($70): A perfect item to have with the summer right around the corner. Think: picnics, BBQ’s, and outdoor hangouts. This is a fun item, and actually feels and sounds super solid. Considering the price of this item alone, the box has already paid for itself. No, this is not a name brand speaker per se, but it more than does the job, and makes the box worth it in and of itself, if you ask us.
Green Tea Candle ($12): A very nice looking and smelling candle. Have had this in my bathroom for a little while now, and quite enjoy it. Not too much else to say here, but this is a nice candle to have. And, again, not something I usually buy, but candles are something that I wished I bought more of. So, it’s nice to have one just show up, ready for use.
Whiskey Soap ($8): An $8 soap? I don’t know about that, but this is a solid bar of soap. Smells really nice, a little bit goes a long way, and is an interesting thing to have in your shower to give you a unique experience. Feels real clean and sharp, though it lasts far less than you think it would… seems like it works through the bar pretty quickly.
Biltong ($6.50): I am not the biggest fan of including food in these boxes, but if you’re going to do it, what is essentially fancy beef jerky is not at all the worst way to do it!
They also included a link to a nice Spotify playlist, which is just another way to give their buyers some more value for each box which is a very nice thing to see as well. Was a solid list of songs, and was a super nice way to extend the box’s calming theme. So, well done here!
Value & Conclusion
All He Loves Subscription Box — $32 - $45 per month: As of right now, we still think that the GQ Best Stuff Box is the best bet overall, but considering the lower price here, and the great past two boxes, we think this is a super solid contender for second place. Seems to go neck and neck with Bespoke Post, if you ask us. If All He Loves keeps up this track record, I think they could be on pace to surpass their competition. We shall just have to wait and see!
