SuitSupply is a brand that has hit the floor running and has made a name for themselves in the suit category. SuitSupply has broadened their brand from just suits to the entire men’s wardrobe. But this review will be focused on the suits aspect ($400-$1,000).
Packaging & Experience
The SuitSupply experience is twofold, on the one hand the website is really great and you can see everything they have, however going to the store itself is an experience that is unmatched. You can try on all different types of suits while being helped by experts who will show you exactly which cut will fit you best and how they will tailor the suit exactly to your needs. If you don’t have the time to go to the store, the online website is also super great, with quick shipping and free returns, and a super sleek and easy-to-navigate experience.
Style & Design
The suits you will find go from conservative to extremely bold. No matter which side of the spectrum you’re on, you will be able to find a suit that fits your personality. I started with the Washington cut and never looked back. The peak lapels are a statement, but not overly bold if you want to still be on the conservative side. The jacket length is on the longer side, but to me is just the right length. The ticket pocket is also another element to this style that gives this suit a more sophisticated look. I also have a couple of SuitSupply’s regular cuts (Lazio, Napoli) which are more of your standard notch lapel with just two pockets. The subtle details in the suits to the more extravagant designs is what gives SuitSupply a wide customer base and makes shopping with them a pleasure.
Quality & Construction
The suits are made in China using Italian fabric from many different famous mills. You can go from super 110s to super 150s. For the price it’s hard to find a suit that competes with quality for the same price. The suits are very well tailored and you can get many different blends, from wool/silk to wool/cashmere and many more. My first suit I got five years ago and it still looks brand new. The suits are very durable and last a very long time. The quality isn’t perfect and you can obviously find a better constructed suit out there, but not at this same price point.
The Fit
I wear a 36R in all my SuitSupply suits and rarely touch the jacket. I mostly wear the Washington cut which is SuitSupply’s slimmest fit. If you are looking for a slim fit suit but with some more room I would recommend the Lazio cut. You can also buy a custom made for $699 and up where you pick a style, fabric you like, and they make it for you. The fit is just superb and the tailors are impeccable. You will walk out with a suit that looks made for your body.
Value & Conclusion
SuitSupply suits are between $400-$1,000. When you decide on a suit for this price point there are some other brands that need mentioning, an example being MySuit. MySuit offers a purely custom shopping experience and allows a wider range of fabrics. However, if you want a suit off the rack, SuitSupply has plenty of options as well as an option for a custom suit. SuitSupply offers a great overall/ experience, well-designed suits, and a superior quality for its price point for the wide range of customers who walk through the door. If you’re looking to pick up a suit, SuitSupply is the place to go.
