As I have written about in the past on this site, I am overall at odds with the stock steel bracelet that the Tudor BB58 comes on. I don’t like the rivets, nor the clasp, nor the lack of micro adjustments. I find it heavy and uncomfortable, and it’s always either a hair too big or too small, no matter how I configure the links. Alas, other than the obscenely over-priced (on the secondary market) Submariner, there is no better alternative for such a dive watch. And so the search for great alternative bracelets is a reality for many BB58 owners…

I don’t know why, but I have always been particularly enamored with the Rolex Oysterflex rubber bracelet. Indeed, I really have always had an affinity for rubber bracelet watches in general. Naturally, I have always found Rolex’s execution to be the best. There is something in the way they combine the elegance and casual nature together in their Oysterflex that just cannot be beat. It’s really quite remarkable and special…

We’re big fans of watches around these parts. Which should come as no surprise to anyone reading this, since a proper wristwatch is the completion to any outfit. It’s the one sort of “jewelry” piece that men get to wear, and it’s a great way to make a subtle statement, and show off your personality. The thing is, though, that after many years of wear you might become a little bit bored with your watch…

Wearing an automatic wristwatch is an excellent way to class-up your look and feel as you get dressed each morning. Sure, Quartz watches are nice — and there is nothing at all wrong with them — but there is just something to a mechanical watch movement working all by itself that you just cannot quite put into words. Wearing such a feat of engineering on your wrist is just something else. The trouble? Most mechanical or full automatic watches are very pricey. Last time we looked at an automatic watch we discussed Orient — one of the best values on the planet in automatic watches…

When it comes to the world of watches, there are really two different realms. There are automatic/mechanical watches, and then there is everything else. Yes, sure, there can be some super well-made, and very nice Quartz battery-powered watches. But nothing will ever come close to the engineering and precision of automatic watches, and the knowledge that the little thing on your wrist is powering itself through a series of intricate and tiny gears…
Read moreGQ’s “Best Stuff Box” Review 2.0 (June 2018)
As soon as we heard that GQ would be getting into the subscription box game, you knew, of course that we would have to take a look and review it for you guys. We were, as it happens, super, super impressed with the first box. And, now, the second box has arrived. GQ’s box delivers every quarter, as opposed to the more common monthly boxes you might be used to. It’s called, as always, the GQ “Best Stuff Box” and it will run you $50 per box…

A good, everyday watch should be something that every guy has. While some men tend to prefer larger watch collections, others are happier with more modest, and minimal collections. Whichever the case, though, having at least one, very solid, everyday watch is a must. No outfit is truly complete without something on your wrist. Plus, the wristwatch is the one area that men truly get to express themselves with accessories…

We’ve spent quite a bit of time now reviewing WatchGang. (If you’d like to know more about what exactly the service is, and how it all works, read those earlier review.) Overall, we cannot say that we have been so deeply impressed. Some of the watches were mediocre and our feelings towards them were somewhat ambivalent. Other watches were downright awful...

Things are not looking too great for WatchGang. After the terrible watch they sent last month, WatchGang offered to send a replacement watch for free. A very nice gesture, and something I gladly accepted. (I truly must say upfront that WatchGang had excellent and speedy customer service — they even gave me free shipping on my next month’s watch.)...

Like all human beings who inhabit planet earth, I love receiving gifts. This year, I got a couple of really great items, but only one of them deserved a review fit for this blog: a watch from MVMT. Before receiving the MVMT watch as a gift, I had (believe it or not) never heard of this particular “fashion watch” company before...
