Sure, we never hoped we’d still be here at this point, but it seems like — at the very least here and there — face masks are going to be a part of our lives for the next little while. So you might as well get one that is comfortable, and looks good (as good as such a thing can look, anyway), right?
Well, in my humble opinion, Proper Cloth is making the best masks right now. They have several different versions, in tons of great fabrics, and they have been refining their product through the pandemic to the point that they really have this nailed down.
They’re a bit pricey at over $20 for most of them, but I think it’s well worth it as these are very re-usable and last a long time. (I have had mine for years now, and just got a new one only because I wanted another color.) My personal favorite is their TechKnit mask, which is a bit smaller and more breathable than their “Everyday Mask.”
The best part about Proper Cloth masks, though, is that they all have a lab test certified BFE ≥95% and PFE ≥85% air filter sewn in for virus protection. Are they quite as good as a true N95 mask as far as protection? No, but they’re pretty dang close, are way more comfortable, and look a whole lot better too. I say, if you’re going to wear something like this on your face, you might as well have it do something.
