Was looking through the “New Arrivals” section of some sites I like and figured I would share a couple of things that stood out to me (perhaps I can make this into a recurring series).
J Crew Boiled Merino Line: Well, it sure seems like J Crew really is cool again. They have a whole bunch of tartan boiled merino products that look absolutely killer. A blazer/sweater, a crewneck, and even joggers. Could you make a super casual suit out of this? Heck yes. I just might. Will I have what it takes to go get groceries wearing it together as a suit? Harder question to answer…
A Day’s March Overshirt: I think they make some of the nicer overshirts around, and this color-block piece is really a stunner, as they say.
Bonobos Corduroy Drawstring Pants: A step up in dressiness from joggers, and the slightest step down from standard chino/cords, these pants I can actually recommend first hand. I have a pair in the chestnut color, and while I wish they were a touch slimmer, overall I quite like them. Quality is typical Bonobos, and the fit, length, sizing, etc., all seems to be pretty straightforward as well. Namely, size down if you want a slimmer fit, size up if you want them baggier. It’s a nice corduroy fabric with a nice amount of stretch. Very comfortable, versatile, and wearable at home with a sweatshirt, or out and about with a nice sweater. Great piece for the upcoming weather.
