Disclaimer: Thursday Boots was kind enough to send The Peak Lapel these shoes for free for the purposes of this review.
It’s no secret that we are big fans of Thursday Boots around here. They make some great shoes at quite affordable prices. They look great, are super comfortable, and really do hold up nicely over time. Are they the strongest, most durable, best built shoes on the market? Or course not. But at the the price point, we think they are some of the absolute best. In short, they punch above their weight, and you’re gettin a great value for your money (which is what we are all about around these parts).
If you’ve been reading TPL for a while, you likely know all of that already, though. What you might not know is that they also have an extensive women’s line in addition to their men’s stuff that you likely know and love. We took a look at their Duchess Chelsea boot in Dark Olive Suede for women ($160) for this review, and it hits all the exact same marks as their men’s counterpart. It’s very well made, breaks in quickly and is super comfortable, and is super versatile as well. Both the sleekness and the durability means that it can be dressed up or down easily, worn in the rain without much issue (as they’re treated for water resistance), and they pretty much instantly became my wife’s favorite shoe.
The great thing is that, at the price, they’re a super value. A comparable shoe at, say, DSW, would not cost a whole lot less. And at an even lower price point than the men’s Chelsea from Thursday Boots, this is an excellent buy. It’s pretty much exactly the same shoe, but with some sizing and proportion tweaks. (Though Thursday does offer a whole lot of specifically women’s designs which are worth looking at too.)
So, why do we bring this up to you? Well, two major reasons. One, since they are so similar to the men’s Chelsea boots from Thursday Boots, consider this as a double review. Everything we said here applies equally to both. But two, they’ll make a great gift for the special someone in your life.
Alright. That’s all. Sure, the holiday season is officially long over, but it’s never a bad time to buy a gift for the woman in your life. And while you likely love Thursday Boots for yourself, it’s a good idea to think about them for the woman in your life as well. They’ll likely enjoy them just as much as you. Carry on.
